Role of Probationary officer
To any public sector banks, clerks are the entry point of contact for enquires and guidance. The role of clerks includes:
Handling withdraw & deposits Cash handling ( accepting payments, sanction withdrawals, verify cheques, issue demand drafts) Back office work like receipts collection, ledger maintenance, balance tally & other transactions.
In addition, clerks may also have to take up marketing of financial products of bank loan, deposits and various schemes.
clerks also known as tellers are the first people in the bank to which we interact maximum time whenever we go into a bank… their biggest role is of processing transactions like withdrawals, deposit, loan payments, cheques processing etc etc… during all these their major work emphasis is on VERIFICATION… verification of the details mentioned on cheques, payment slips, deposit slips, etc etc…
it is the only job in which you can take maximum promotion without giving any exam (If you want) otherwise you may keep continuing the making application for exams for higher posts.
